OffPeakly is built to help UK households understand Octopus Agile electricity prices, find useful usage windows, and set price alerts.

Short version

No account is required

OffPeakly works without an account.

If you only browse the site, we do not ask for your name, address, postcode, smart meter details, payment details, or Octopus API key.

If you create an alert, we store the email address and alert settings needed to send that alert. You must confirm your email before the alert becomes active, and every alert email includes an unsubscribe link.

Information we collect

Only the data needed to run the site

• Pages requested, browser/device type, approximate request time, IP address in server logs, and error logs for security and debugging.
• Email address, selected region, alert type, alert settings, confirmation status, unsubscribe status, and sent-alert records if you create an alert.
• Local browser preferences such as selected region, price thresholds, live dashboard settings, appliance timer defaults, and analytics consent.

Information we do not ask for

No account access or uploaded meter history

• Account passwords
• Postcode or home address
• Payment details
• Octopus API keys
• Smart meter credentials
• Uploaded half-hourly consumption files

If you use CSV import, the file is processed in your browser and the raw file is not uploaded to OffPeakly.

How we use information

Operational and alert-only use

• Show Agile price data for your selected region.
• Send alert emails you asked for and confirm your email before activating them.
• Stop sending alerts after unsubscribe and keep dedupe records so duplicate alert emails are not sent.
• Monitor reliability, security, abuse prevention, and optional aggregate usage patterns if analytics are enabled.

Email alerts

Transactional, confirmed, and unsubscribe-ready

Alert emails are transactional messages based on an alert you create.

You will not receive alert emails unless you confirm your email address.

Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link. Alert signup is not consent for marketing emails.

Optional analytics

Non-essential scripts stay off unless you accept them

If you accept optional analytics, OffPeakly can use Google Analytics to understand which pages and tools are useful.

We do not send email addresses, alert tokens, API keys, or personal energy usage data to analytics.

You can decline analytics, and local storage is used to remember that choice. Clearing browser data resets the choice.

Ko-fi, affiliate links and referrals

Support and commercial links stay separate from price logic

OffPeakly includes links to Ko-fi, affiliate partners, referral links, or comparison services.

If you click one of these links, the third-party site may receive information such as the page you came from. Their own privacy policies apply.

Affiliate or referral links do not affect the price data, calculations, or alert logic shown by OffPeakly.

Cookies and local storage

Used for preferences and consent where needed

OffPeakly uses essential local storage or cookies to remember preferences, analytics consent, or install-related UI state.

If optional analytics is accepted, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies subject to its own policies.

Data retention

Alert data is kept only while useful

We keep alert data while the alert is active.

If you unsubscribe, we may keep a suppression record so we do not send more emails for that alert.

Server logs are kept for operational, debugging, and security purposes, then deleted or rotated.
